Connecting young people, communities and cultures through education, shared experiences and meaningful human connection.
About the Programme
The Tater Threads Programme is our flagship programme for young people aged 13 to 18, up to 36 youth participants.
It combines online preparation with a five-day, four-night in-person experience in Malaysia. Participants from different cultures and communities learn together through shared activities, conversations, challenges, cultural exchange and reflection.
A central feature of the programme is the opportunity for international and Orang Asli youth to meet as peers. Rather than simply learning about one another, participants share their own experiences, listen to different perspectives and discover both their differences and common ground.
More Than a Camp
The Tater Threads Programme is not designed as a typical recreational camp or sightseeing trip.
Every activity supports a wider learning purpose. Participants are encouraged to:
- Communicate across cultural and language differences;
- Step beyond familiar environments;
- Work towards shared goals;
- Learn through hands-on experiences;
- Explore culture, community and sustainability; and
- Build genuine relationships.
Learning also happens outside scheduled activities — through shared meals, informal conversations, teamwork and everyday interaction.
